About Me

Psychologist • Psychotherapist

My name is Ioanna, and I am a licensed Psychologist with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of East London. I specialize in Gestalt therapy and offer a warm, attuned space where you can reconnect with yourself, explore what may be holding you back, and move towards meaningful change at your own pace.

I believe therapy is not about quick fixes, but about creating a safe and supportive environment where you can be truly seen and heard. Each session is tailored to your unique pace and needs, helping you gain clarity, self-acceptance, and the confidence to move forward in life.

What is Gestalt Therapy?

Gestalt therapy is a humanistic and experiential form of psychotherapy. It emphasizes awareness of the here and now, integrating thoughts, emotions, and bodily sensations into a unified understanding of the self.

Unlike traditional talk therapy, Gestalt uses active methods and practical tools designed to increase awareness, enhance self-regulation, and resolve unfinished patterns that may contribute to psychological distress.

  • Anxiety disorders and panic attacks
  • Depression and mood difficulties
  • Trauma and post-traumatic stress
  • Psychosomatic conditions
  • Relationship and family conflicts
  • Burnout and work-related stress

By fostering present-moment awareness and responsibility, Gestalt therapy supports resilience, healthier coping strategies, and greater psychological well-being. It is also valuable if you simply wish to grow, strengthen your relationships, and live more authentically.

Lived experience & inspiration

From Lived Experience to Practice: The Heart of My Work

Throughout my working experience I’ve supported people struggling with homelessness, addictions, physical and cognitive disabilities, mental health issues, sex workers in vulnerable situations, as well as people facing identity shifts, cultural displacement, and starting over in new places.

I’ve also personally been through immigration myself, so I know the emotional toll it can take and what it means to rebuild far from home.

Since 2019, I’ve been in therapy myself. This ongoing journey helps me grow, embrace all parts of who I am, and hold deeper space for others with authenticity and presence. Alongside this, I am also under professional supervision as a therapist, ensuring that I continue to develop and offer the best possible support to those I work with.

How I work

Gestalt at the core, integrative in practice

My foundation is Gestalt therapy, and I integrate other approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness practices, and body-oriented methods depending on each person’s unique needs.

I take a holistic view, working with the mind, body, and soul as a unified whole. I believe that true healing happens when all parts of you are acknowledged and understood. My role is to create a safe and attuned space where you can reconnect with yourself, gain clarity, and move toward meaningful change at a pace that feels right for you.

Whether it’s navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, addictions, or identity, my work is focused on creating a space where you can feel heard, supported and empowered to move forward.
